Hip Hip Hooray!

These last few weeks have had some great milestones! Gabriel's finally off the diapers AND off the binkie. Joshua's off the bottle! YAY!

A Big Change for me...

I dyed my hair dark for the first time ever today. I love it! Gabriel almost didn't recognize me. It was kind of funny. Aaron has not seen it yet. Hopefully he likes it too! :)

The Birthday Party

We had a small combined party for Gabriel who turned 3 September 7th, and for Joshua who turned 1 on September 13th. We almost didn't do a party since we didn't really know too many people, and all the people we had invited ahead of time couldn't come. Luckily we asked a few people the day of the party and they were able to make it. Aaron's coworker Tim and his fiance Oki came. And another guy Aaron works with came with his wife and their 4 year old girl Natalie. We had lots of fun. We ate pizza, opened a few presents, and had yummy ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. That was a huge hit with Josh he LOVED it. Then we went up to our rooftop and shot off some fireworks that were pretty cool. When you go through the party supply aisle at the Korean store Home Plus (kind of comparable to Walmart), they have TONS of fireworks. So we indulged. We got some pretty good fireworks for really cheap. Everyone enjoyed them. Then everyone went home. We all had a good time. Glad we were able to celebrate the boys turning a year older.

Gabe's B-Day

Poor Gabriel was sick the weekend of his birthday and still woke up with a fever the morning of his birthday. The poor kid. But we didn't let that stop us from celebrating the big day. We drove to Osan Air Base and picked out a bunch of toys from us and from grandparents. We ate lunch and played at a little playplace for a short while. Shhh don't tell the other parents Gabriel was still a little sick. Then we made our way to Home Plus, a chain store in South Korea that's comparable to a Walmart in the states. Except everything's in Korean. We found him the perfect bike. His legs can reach the pedals all the way around, but it's a large bike so he has lots of room to grow. Then we went home. We were all so tired. Luckily we had a chocolate muffin (Gabe thinks it's a cupcake) leftover from hotel breakfasts to sing and blow out candles with. We are going to do a mini party for Gabriel and Joshua this Saturday with a real cake.

First Days in Korea

Here's some pics from our first few days in Korea. We've been here one week now. We landed in Seoul on Wednesday and stayed at Dragon Hill Lodge on an Army post in Seoul for 2 nights. On Friday, we made our way south about 90 minutes to Camp Humphreys where Aaron will be stationed for one year. We have been busy house hunting, car hunting, and working on getting Aaron in processed. We found an apartment off post, about 5 minutes from the main gate. We move in on Friday and I can't wait! We found a car on Monday and we get to pick it up today and get it registered. I can't wait! Korea is way cool. There are TONS of people and everyone we've met has been super nice. I'll try to be good about keeping my blog up to date now that I have the laptop again.
