El Salvador

Aaron and I made it to El Salvador safely. We stayed in a hotel by the Dulles airport Sunday night because we had to get up at 2:30 Monday morning to get to the airport and get checked into our 5:15 nonstop flight. It went pretty smooth. We landed in El Salvador and waited over an hour for our guide to bring us to our resort, 2 1/2 hours from the airport. So finally, we made it to our resort yesterday at noon El Salvador time. The resort is AMAZING. The whole ride here was making me wonder how nice it could possibly be. But it is truly a sanctuary here from the rest of the country. It makes me wonder where they get the building supplies. The resort is even better than their pictures on their website. If you want to see the pictures, the link is http://www.wavehunters.com/lasfloressurfclub/ I will post some actual pictures from our trip when I get home next Monday.
Aaron got to surf two sessions yesterday, and so far two sessions today with plans to go out one more time. We got to take a boat trips to one of the breaks this morning called Punta Mango. The coastline of El Salvador is just gorgeous. The break right outside of the hotel is probably one of the best breaks I have ever seen. It is going really good right now while we're here.
The food is amazing. And it is nice not having to pay a bill every meal. We paid for all of that up front!
So that's a summary of our past few days. It is awesome. We are on cloud nine. Especially Aaron since he's catching some really awesome waves. We miss Gabriel a TON! But I am so glad we did not have to do the trip with him. It would have been a stressful travel. Hopefully he's having fun with Grandma!
All the other guests here are so nice. There is one other couple, and two 5 guy groups from Sou Cal. They are a lot of fun and everyone is good at taking turns catching the waves. I'll post another blog at the end of the week with more cool stories.

Fun at the Beach

We spent Wednesday evening and Thursday morning and afternoon at the beach in Port Aransas, TX. It's only a 2 1/2-3 hours drive from San Antonio. Gabriel hated the beach at first and wouldn't even walk in the sand. Until he noticed the birds and then he started running and laughing nonstop. The rest of his time was full of fun and playing. Aaron practiced his paddling in the whitewash Texas waves, trying to get in shape for El Salvador, only a week and a half away! If any of my friends ever make it to Port Aransas, you have to eat at Fins. It is the best restaurant we've ever had there. You can even sit on their deck and watch the boats.

It's Breakfast Time

So Gabriel's favorite way to eat breakfast is sitting on his Elmo sofa, watching....Elmo. I love DVR!

Gabriel and Kerra

Here's a fun picture of Gabriel and his closest cousin Kerra (born on my Dad's birthday, 7 weeks before Gabriel) playing at Auntie Doralyn's house. Thank goodness for camera phones at times like these.

Gabe's first Bike Ride

Well, he couldn't quite reach the pedals but he played with his cousin's bike for a long time!
