MRI Results "Unremarkable!"

YAY! (I guess that word just means they couldn't find anything out of the ordinary)

Joshua's MRI

Well, we haven't heard the results yet but Josh had his MRI yesterday. The poor guy. It was a long day. We had to wait almost an hour at outpatient registration, almost 20 minutes in the waiting room of the MRI. Then, we had to go through all the anesthesia paperwork since they had to put the poor guy asleep. And they did the MRI with dye so he had to have an iv. The test itself took over 90 minutes! So they had to put a tube down his throat to breathe for him since he had to be asleep for so long. The poor guy was not happy when he woke up from anesthesia with a sore throat and an iv in his hand. But after an hour of being awake from his anesthesia they took out the iv and sent us home and he's been the happiest baby ever since. I love that dude! What a trooper!

This is what happens when you put something just out of reach. When you turn away for a second, arms magically grow and grab whatever it is. He wasn't even eating them! I wonder how many Jewel ate though...

Joshua's Updates

I can't believe Joshua is turning 8 months old this week. How the time has flown. Within the last month, he finally started rolling over and sitting up on his own. It finally clicked for him. Last week he went to the pool for his first time and really liked the water. He watches Gabriel all the time and I just know will learn tons of stuff from his big brother. He LOVES to eat baby food and finger foods, and he is all bottles now, although he'd rather have the food. He still just has the one tooth he's had since birth with lots of drool showing signs of more to come.

On a medical note, Aaron noticed around 2 months of age that Josh has slightly different sized pupils. We didn't think it meant anything but my doctor husband knows that can be a sign of something serious. We told the doctor at the 2 month appt and she couldn't tell so she just blew it off then. We told her again at his 4 month appt and she still couldn't tell, but she did refer us to an opthomologist on base. So we went to that appt. and he could tell but thought it was just physiological, but refered us to an off-post pediatric opthomologist. We just saw her last week and she dialated his eyes to get a better look at them. She doesn't think anything is wrong, but she wants to rule out a few things so Joshua has to have a 24 hours urine collection and an MRI done this week. We are not worried at all but I just wanted to update everyone on this ordeal that we've been going through trying to get our command sponsorship to Korea. They won't send it in for approval until this pupil thing is resolved. So please keep Joshua in mind when you say your prayers this week and, Misty, I know this doesn't even compare at all to Ty, but at least you know what we'll be going through on Tuesday when we have the MRI done.

The Boards Are Over!

Congrats to Aaron for passing the last step of his licensing exam! After internship is over in less than 2 months, he will officially be a licensed doctor in the US! Whoo-hoo! I'm so proud of you HONEY!
